Gary Edmund Carter, aka “The Kid”, played his first game for the Montreal Expos in 1974. If you were lucky, you could snag his rookie card from a 1975 Topps (American) or O-Pee-Chee (Canadian) pack of basball cards. It pictured him on cardboard with three other catcher hopefuls.
